All Together Now! for Art-A-Whirl
All Together Now! I am so excited to let y’all know that I will again be participating in Art-A-Whirl this year! This time around, I will not be hosting visitors at my home studio, but instead I am participating in All Together Now!, a one day festival Saturday May 18th from 11-6 at the Eastside Food Coop. This is my local food coop just down Central Ave south of my home here in Northeast Minneapolis.
It’s that time of year again, spring in the Northeast neighborhood in Minneapolis means it’s time for Art-A-Whirl! This neighborhood wide epic art festival is at it’s core a giant studio tour. Most NEMAA (North East Minneapolis Arts Association) members are participating. Most of these studios are located in the giant old industrial buildings down by the Mississippi River that have been repurposed to house sometimes hundreds of artists studios. The 17th, 18th, and 19th of May 2024 these buildings will be open and overflowing with art appreciating members of the public and participants in the art scene. The three day, neighborhood spanning festival features oodles of affiliated events including individual artist studio tours, art markets, classes, demos, and art happenings and even an entire little art festival of its own for one day outside the Eastside Food Coop called All Together Now!.
I knew I wanted to participate in a group activity for this year’s Art-A-Whirl and All Together Now was my top choice! I’m so glad I applied and was chosen for one of their artist market openings! There will be about a dozen pop-up vendors, as well as live music, food trucks, info tables, face painting, balloons and more!
As I mentioned in my last blog post, I created a bunch of new prints as well as new sticker designs and fresh business cards that I will debut at the event. I’m making some fun 3-D signs and getting a banner sign printed to elevate my booth display and really give the event go-ers a fun and engaging experience. I’ll write up some posts as soon as those various projects are done and show you my process, and the finished results. I’m hoping my art filled colorful 10”x10” tent space will add to the overall event and give the festival participants lot of incentive to pick up some of my art for their own lives and leave some of their hard earned dollars with me!
